Partnering with our clients for more than 50 years
Together with our clients, we have mastered innumerable concrete complexities for more than 50 years. We take pride in our work, and we don’t settle for anything short of amazing. We thrive on the toughest challenges and dare to go beyond the expected. Here is a collection of some of the projects we have achieved with our clients.
Each year, the tennis center hosts the Western & Southern Open, an event dating back to 1899 that has grown into America’s second largest tennis tournament. Baker began work on the five-floor concrete addition in October 2017. Featuring five floors of luxury suites, box seats, press boxes, indoor stadium seating and concessions, the new 441,395-square-foot grandstand will be the facility’s crown jewel. Over a four-month period, the tennis center project served up plenty of chances for Baker Concrete to perform as world-class concrete construction pros.
Before the U.S. Department of Homeland Security could move into its new consolidated headquarters, Baker DC co-workers had to pull off a tricky balancing act. Their mission: to preserve the legacy of a national landmark, St. Elizabeths, while making room to build secure, modern government offices.
St. Elizabeth Center
Occupying one full city block in downtown Houston, the Capitol Tower stands at a vast height of 532 feet above ground. This 35-story cast in place tower provides 750,000 square feet of office space, 35,000 sf of retail and dining space and an 11-level parking garage (including 2 below ground). Baker’s scope included the mat foundation, slab on grade, shear walls, columns, long form pan framed structural slabs and pan stairs.
