The Wharf Phase II

Project Overview

Baker’s drive to work harder, smarter and better is on full display at The Wharf Phase 2 project in Washington, D.C. Baker is the structural cast-in-place subcontractor for the project. The scope includes 650,000 sf of below-grade parking levels, slabs and 1.3 million sf of above-grade slabs between 5 different multistory residential and office parcels.

In addition, three separate general contractors are managing portions of the project, placing a premium on collaboration, coordination, and communication.

Tenacity and resourcefulness have enabled the team to develop innovative solutions to drive the schedule. Baker’s advanced building information modeling (BIM) capabilities have been key to this. The Baker team is using BIM to streamline communication and coordination between contractors, reduce redundancy, and uncover value-added insights to the project stakeholders.
