The Northern Operations office opened in 1968 in Baker's original location of Oxford, Ohio. Today our corporate office is located north of Cincinnati in Monroe, Ohio. Northern Operations consists of project-focused divisions to serve the needs of our clients in different markets: Commercial/Institutional, and Industrial.
The Northern Operations team consists of some of Baker's most experienced coworkers. The depth of experience brings extremely well-developed relationships with suppliers and subcontractors, making life easier for our clients by easing transitions and improving collaboration.
Commercial/Institutional
The Northern Commercial Division concentrates on work in Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, West Virginia, and Tennessee. These teams also travel to other locations nationwide when we can add value to the overall construction process.
This group represents one of the few contractors in the region that can provide a full range of concrete services under one roof, completing packages of all sizes and scopes including both total package projects and packages consisting of pump/place/finish, formwork, site work, civil concrete, and design/build services. The Northern Commercial group specializes in all types of commercial and institutional structures, specifically: hospitality, office and retail, garages, sports and entertainment, healthcare, education, justice and security, and transportation.
Industrial
The National Projects Division services industrial markets throughout the continental United States providing a mix of cast-in-place concrete products and construction services. It sells and executes a mix of cast-in-place concrete products and construction services. Areas of expertise include foundations, tilt-up, exterior paving, building flatwork, specialty and industrial floors, structural frames, total quality floor system, design assist services, specifications/technical review, value engineering, budgeting and conceptual estimating, and restoration, coatings, and repair.
Industrial projects targeted by the Division include projects that are used directly or indirectly in the manufacture of goods and services, most often in:
- Energy production
- Manufacturing
- Warehousing and distribution
- Coatings
Typical projects include high-end specialty floors, automotive and component manufacturing facilities, warehouse and distribution centers, steel mills, power plants, and other energy manufacturing facilities.
